Introduction:

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at Maharaja Agrasen Teacher Training College envisions to create an inclusive society. At the college level, the cell is dedicated to create pathways for students with disabilities and those from marginalised sections of society. Special support is provided to slow learners and those who need additional help through a variety of means such as remedial and extra classes. The College has constructed ramps, railings, accessible washrooms and Braille-enabled sign boards for differently abled persons. The cell organises activities aimed to initiate conversations on various barriers confronting students with disabilities and other forms of social exclusion, build empathy, and to motivate them to overcome societal barriers.

Our mission is to foster an environment of awareness, equity, and equal opportunity, promoting social inclusion, diversity, and cohesion within our institution.

Objectives:

• To promote the equality among all and eliminate the discrimination or harassment.
• To adopt and implement harmonized guidelines and space standards for a barrier free built environment for all.
• To identify the issues in the campus and to provide an enabling and non-discriminative environment for all.
• To disseminate the information related to schemes, programs, notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Govt., related to welfare of target groups from time to time.
• To promote diversity and inclusive practices on campus and provide the underprivileged groups with adequate opportunities.
• Safeguard the interest of students without any prejudice to their caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender and disability.
• To create an atmosphere of equal opportunity through awareness generation programmes.
• To expedite legal redressal in matters of violation of equal opportunity.
• To take such follow up measures to achieve the objectives and targets laid down by the of India and the UGC.
